Secretary: Madison Cohen

Madison Cohen, LMSW, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa in 2017 and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2021. Madison currently works as a birth-21 School Social Worker for Heartland AEA and has a variety of experience working with students of all ages and abilities. In the past she has worked with twice-exceptional and gifted students at the Belin-Blank Center in Iowa City; She student-taught fourth grade in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and had practicum experience teaching students from Kindergarten through 6th grade in the Iowa City Community School District; She has volunteered as a mentor to at-risk high school students; She has also worked as a full-time preschool provider for Cadence Academy, and while working towards her graduate degree she was a paraeducator for West Des Moines Community Schools. Madison currently lives in the Des Moines area with her husband Benjamin, and their sons Noah and Daniel.
