The 2026 ISSWA Virtual Ethics Training will take place on Monday, October 12th, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
Join us for a practical ethics training focused on “When Law and Ethics Collide: Navigating Dilemmas in School Social Work.”
This interactive virtual training is designed specifically for school social workers navigating the complex intersection of legal requirements, school policies, and professional ethics. Presented by Emily Donovan, LISW, BCBA, participants will explore key components of the NASW School Social Work Practice Standards and Code of Ethics as they relate to school social work practice. Through real world scenarios, participants will examine situations in which legal and policy requirements may conflict with ethical responsibilities, including potential risks, consequences, and professional duties. Participants will apply the NASW Code of Ethics and School Social Work Practice Standards to navigate legal and ethical dilemmas and strengthen their school based practice.
Participants will earn 3 Ethics CEUs.
Cost: Free for ISSWA members; $30 for non members.
