Title: Ethical use of Everyday Technology for Social Workers in Social and Professional Environments


Presenter: Stephen Cummings, University of Iowa School of Social Work Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Distance Learning


Objectives: 

  1. Consider the current state of professional and social technology and its recent impact on human interaction.
  2. Discuss how current technologies in professional and social use impact social work practice
  3. Review the ethical uses in social work as they relate to current technologies.
Any licensed school social worker in Iowa is welcomed to attend a 3 hour Ethics workshop to meet licensure requirements.  This Ethics presentation will focus on the current issues related to social work ethics and the use of multi-media and technology in everyday practice. The workshop will include a presentation of information, legal issues, updates about confidentiality and the use of media, and a chance for interactive discussion and questions. Certificates will be given to document attendance.


Note: This Ethics presentation is FREE for all current ISSWA members in good standing!  Thank you for your membership!! 

Non-members' fee is $25.
