President: Madison Imoehl

Madison Imoehl, LMSW is a School Social Worker entering her fourth year at Grant Wood AEA. She completed her internship there as well. She currently serves as the president of the Iowa School Social Workers Association (ISSWA). At Grant Wood Area Education Agency, Madison supports early childhood and elementary-age special education evaluations in the Iowa City Community School District. Madison serves as a School Social Work Lead and member of the Crisis Response Team.

In addition to her leadership at the state level, Madison serves as Vice President of the Midwest Council and is an active member of the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) through the Legislative and Advocacy Committee. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of Northern Iowa, completing her master’s with a specialization in trauma-informed care.

Madison grew up in Northeast Iowa and frequently returns to visit family and friends. In her free time, she works at the Iowa Children’s Museum in Coralville during summers and school breaks. Outside of work, you can often catch her with a cup of coffee or tea in hand, reading a good book, and spending time outside.
