Membership Chair: Amy Nyhuis

Amy serves three school districts as a shared school social worker with NWAEA. In her role, she supports students in developing emotional regulation, social skills, and behavioral management strategies. She primarily uses evidence-based art therapy interventions to help students build these skills and enjoys being a positive role model in their success. Amy lives in Sioux Center, Iowa, and is the proud mother of three adult daughters and one granddaughter, who bring her great joy. She feels blessed to have family and friends nearby. In her free time, Amy enjoys walking, quilting, and spending time with her children and granddaughter. By serving on the ISSWA board, Amy hopes to support and learn from fellow school social workers across the state. She looks forward to contributing valuable insights and fostering collaboration that promotes professional growth for social workers in Iowa schools.
